A note from Fred Rannard Jr.

Dear Friends:

On behalf of my entire family thank you for your support of the Tenth Annual Fred Rannard, Sr. Open Wheel Classic at Agassiz Speedway on September 12.Ā  It's hard to believe that it has been ten years already since we started this event.

Once again this year drivers, crews and fans from all over British Columbia and Washington travelled to the beautiful east Fraser Valley of BCĀ  for great racing, great weather and another huge crowd.

Langley's Tyson Cross (sprint cars), Victoria's Darian Zeinstra (dwarf cars) and Abbotsford's Aaron Fell (midgets) all had great nights as they each set fast time and won their respective 30 lap feature races.Ā  The midget and dwarf car main events both went non stop from green flag to checkeredĀ in approximately seven minutes.Ā  Cross and Zeinstra both became the first three time champions in their divisions while Fell won the midget title for the second time.

The evening started out with the popular meet and greet autograph session on the track and then it was time for opening ceremonies.Ā  Drivers from as far away as Terrace, BC and Spokane, Washington introduced themselves to the crowd before a moment of silence was held for the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks 25 years ago.Ā  Murray Jones did his usual fine job singing the national anthems.

Thank you to the staff at Agassiz Speedway, the drivers, crews and officials from the Can Am Sprint Car Series, the Vancouver Island Dwarf Cars, the South Sound Bandit Dwarf Cars, the Northwest Focus Midget Series, the Agassiz Midgets, our generous sponsors and fans.

Sincerely,

Fred Rannard, Jr. and family
